It's Show Time!

Calling all Mallard Talent!  The Talent Show is BACK. This year, our students will be shining on stage at Tuckahoe Middle School on April 17th, 2026 at 6pm.  Our timeline is tight, but our talent is mighty, and we can't wait to see what your students have in store for us this year.

 

The Mallard talent show is an inclusive show where our students show off their talents - big and small.  We have dancers, gymnasts, musicians, poets and even comedians! Each act can be a maximum of 1 minute, and each student may only participate in one act. Music must be submitted via email to mallardtalentshow@gmail.com by the first practice with the student's name and grade in the subject line.

So what happens after you sign up?!?!?  The move is on!  Talent never rests!  We will have several weeks of practice opportunities where our acts get time to hone their skills, build their confidence, and perfect their performance. 

 

On the Friday preceding each week practice, a new Google form will be sent to participants to sign up for practice dates. The office uses this to ensure students are accounted for while on campus. You will also need to send a note permitting your child to stay after school for practice.

Practice dates:

Practices are held directly after school in the cafeteria.  Students must have a chaperone to attend.  One adult is allowed to chaperone multiple students. Students are encouraged to practice outside on campus with their groups, with parental leadership, while waiting for their turn on stage. Students are free to leave after they have their turn on stage. 

 

Week 1 practice (attend 1 of the days):  

Bring your idea, your music if you need it, and a starting point of your act.  Each act will get a chance to perform/practice on the stage with music/mics/props/etc.

Week 2 practice (only 1 day required, but can attend more if needed):

Come prepared to perform with props, music and choreography finalized.

SPRING BREAK:

Students are encouraged to practice at home during the break

 

Week 3 practice (only 1 day required, but can attend more if needed):

Students are encouraged to practice with groups during recess at least twice this week

If parents are comfortable, the act will send a recording of a practice performance to mallardtalentshow@gmail.com to be clipped and included in a pre-show video.

Week 4 practice (optional rehearsals and mandatory dress rehearsal):

All acts should just be perfecting their act by now.  Practices are optional, but dress rehearsal is mandatory.
